Sport Activities

kayaking the waterways
to beach volleyball

If you’re looking to catch some serious rays (please don’t forget the sunscreen) and burn some energy there is always a plethora of activities to choose from here.  Whether it be fishing from our Blue Heron Drift Boat many miles off shore, snorkeling the lagoon on Peanut Island, canoeing amid the wildlife out of River Bend Park (yes there are alligators and they are particularly squirrely from May through September because it’s mating and nesting season so I try to stay off the River during those months) there is also Kayaking out of John D. Mc Arthur Beach State Park or you can find a beach volleyball game going on most any given day on the public Singer Island Beach.  That is just the tip of the iceberg.  These are just a few of my favorites. If you’re here in the months between May and October the closer you can stay to the water the better, it will be hot my friends but you’re on vacation so who cares, right?  November through April weather is much more conducive to biking, golfing, Disney World, The Zoo or day trips to one of our many points of interest and beauty… but that’s when it gets really busy.  It’s our season for Snowbirds…those of you fortunate enough to fly south and make this your winter home.

I will cover many of these activities individually sharing :

  • contact information
  • pricing and schedules
  • pictures from our own recent outings and calendar dates for any future scheduled day trips
