Freddy Kruger and Zombie masks start showing up on every store shelf. Halloween decorations pop up in front yards and on doorsteps everywhere. This is an exciting time for us here in Palm Beach County. It means the end of blistering hot summer days that seem to last forever. It means Fall is in the air. With Fall comes the ritual Saturday morning exodus to the downtown http://WPBgreenmarket Every Saturday morning for seven months we’re treated to a cluster of booths, tents, portable bars and live music. Well behaved, leashed furry family members are very welcome at this Green Market. If you are an animal lover you will be treated to every type of canine breed you can imagine. Squiggly little hands in strollers are just itching to touch and pet them, and the pups love the attention.
There are a number of markets all over Palm Beach County. Most take place on Saturday and/or Sunday morning. We even have them during the week. Our downtown Green Market has become famous. I’m talking about our Mac Daddy Green Market that was voted number #1 in the country. From now until the end of April, 830am to 130pm, downtown WPB turns into a hustle and bustle of people looking for fresh veggies, beautiful plants and flowers, yummy eats and specialty items.
FARMERS, BAKERS, CHEESE MAKERS, OH MY
You’ll find farmers, bakers, cheese makers, oil and vinegars of every flavor under the sun, pickle barrels filled with crunchy brine goodness, artisans peddling their organic pet foods, honey and sprouted greens turned into shots for sale. It’s a culinary wonderland. Local restaurants abound selling tapas size portions of their best menu items to tempt us into their lair. I cannot think of a better way to spend a beautiful sunny Saturday morning. Clematis Street is blocked off for pedestrians only and what you have is a strollers paradise. There is so much to see and do and taste, you can easily lose yourself for hours. Your mind will get a welcome respite from the worries of the week. Call it a form of walking meditation if you will.
In addition to our grande dame green market downtown West Palm Beach, http://wpb.org/greenmarket there are a number of others all throughout Palm Beach County. I’d like to tell you about them here.
- At the Riviera Beach Marina on 13th street and US I you’ll find the Tiki Market. This market is available for you to peruse all year long on Sundays from 4pm to 7pm. There is a great little tropical hideaway “Rafiki Tiki” where you can sit on the Marina and enjoy cocktails and some Caribbean fare. http://Instagram.com/tikimarketrivierabeach This is also the Marina where you can pick up the ferry to take you over to Peanut Island. It’s worth the trip and I will expound on that in another post.
- In the north part of the county we enjoy a lovely Green Market on Sundays from 8am to 1pm. You’ll see many food vendors and a plethora of orchids and other flowering plants. It takes place under white tents at the City Hall Municipal Complex at 10500 N. Military Trail, directly across from the Burns Road Community Center. http://pbgfl.gov/greenmarket There is a wonderful waterpark for kids and grown ups alike. Don’t forget your bathing suit and take off some dust and heat after wandering the green market. It’s so fun! My granddaughter and I were the very first entrants into the newly renovated water park back when it reopened a few years ago. They’ve done some fantastic renovations.
- A little farther north you have “The Market at Harbourside Place” from 10am to 4pm. Harbourside sits right on the Intracoastal waterway at the Jupiter Bridge on Indiantown Rd. http://Harboursideplace.com/event/themarketatharboursideplace Many weekends you will be entertained with live music by local artists. On many a Sunday mornings you will be treated to a yoga class at 930am, held at the Amphitheater inside Harbourside along with local artisans of jewelry, candles, etc. Most enjoyable!
- Not far from Harbourside you have the Tequesta Farmers Market. http://instagram.com/tequestafarmersmarket This farmers market also runs all year on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm. It’s located at Riverside Community Center, 25 Van Road in Tequesta. This is a fairly new market and will celebrate it’s two year anniversary in Feb. 2026. Here you will find all things culinary, as organic and fresh as it gets.

HEADING INTO SOUTH COUNTY
- Moving to the south part of the county, we begin with the Lake Worth Beach Oceanside Farmers Market. This market takes place in the beautiful Old Bridge Park, Lake Ave. and A1A right on the water. Saturday morning from 9am to 1pm you will enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Lake Worth, also home to the “Lake Worth Street Painting Festival in February.
- Moving further south we head to the “Delray Beach Winter Green Market”. This market takes place every Saturday from 9am to 2pm at Old School Square Campus, 51 N. Swinton Ave. Delray Beach. Celebrating it’s 30th Anniversary this season you will also be treated to live music each week. There are several parking lots and garages in the area such as NE First Ave. and the Bob Federspiel Garage on NW First Ave. and also the Monterey Lot. - The city of Boca Raton offers you three markets to choose from. 9am to 1pm at 7900 Glades Rd. Boca, http://bocafarmersmarket.com and 8am to 1230pm on Mizner Blvd. by the fountain at Royal Palm Place. http://bocagreenmarket.comFor the night dwellers, Boca offers a night market once a month on Thursday evening from 6pm to 9pm. - WESTERN PALM BEACH COUNTY
In the western part of Palm Beach County you will find Equine events, Palm Beach Polo, and a number of Markets on the weekend. At the Wellington Amphitheater on Forest Hill Blvd. every Thursday evening throughout the season you will find a fantastic night out. On the main stage you’ll be invited to listen to some great local artists, cover bands and the occasional surprise guest. The food trucks abound along with some beautiful art, jewelry and something for everyone. Enjoy this night out from 5pm to 9pm, you won’t regret it. It proves a very enjoyable mid week get away. for more info go to http://wellingtonlakeside market.com Finally, on our list is the “Swank Farmers Market Loxahatchee Groves and this market is about as close as you can get to the actual farm. It’s held every Saturday from 10am to 1pm at 14311 North Road, Loxahatchee. Here you will find a true farmers market held in an 8500 square foot open air barn, away from the crowds and parking hassles. On the property you will also be greeted by their pigs, chickens and sheep. Due to the presence of the farm animals, this market only allows service dogs. Unlike all the other markets that welcome your leashed, well behaved furry friends.
