LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF!

Hello All! My name is Patti and I live in one of the most beautiful places in the entire world.  Now, I know it sounds cliche and maybe a bit arrogant to call where I live “one of the most beautiful places in the world” when there are sooo many of them all over the planet.  Assuming you are a travel bug like me, you’re well aware of all the beauty in the world. So, let’s just consider the facts then, shall we?

NEIGHBORS TO THE NORTH AND SOUTH

Three hours drive to the north of me is (and I can say with some certainty) the number one vacation spot in the world. A certain mouse and his friends call it home.Four to six hours to the south of me is the Adult Magic Kingdom. There may be a few rats running around down by the waterfront, but you will find the best Mojitos and the most beautiful sunsets on the east coast.  Yes, you guessed it, Key West, home to Ernest Hemingway and his six toed cats, chickens and roosters walking freely down the streets, world class fishing and diving, and then there is Fantasy Fest.  But…

MY LOCAL PLAYGROUND

I’m getting way ahead of myself.  I would like to begin by showing you around my back yard. My backyard is Palm Beach County. My backyard is beautiful Singer Island which has one of the top ten beaches in the world (as voted by Travel Channel viewers), Peanut Island, Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter, Wellington, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach AND the icing on the cake, Palm Beach Island. You know the one…Robin Leach of ” playground for the rich and famous”, mega yachts and world famous Worth Avenue.  This is where I have worked hard and played hard for the past forty years as a CNA by day and a bartender by night in some of the best spots in town.

In that time it has grown from a quiet little laid back oasis into a sprawling waterfront metropolis. It has spread west into a suburban to rural playground of immense proportion. It can be a little daunting, to say the least, being in a new and unfamiliar place. Certainly you’re just itching to get out there and do some of the things we locals enjoy all year round. This is where I come in.

LEISURE PASS TIMES

Many an afternoon has been spent skating along the waterfront. Likewise, when something more upscale was in order, a Sunday Polo match with Mimosas. A possible sighting of Prince Charles, Prince Harry or maybe Tommy Lee Jones is not altogether out of the question. Tommy Lee Jones,who btw owns his own polo ponies, watches them from his private box in the stands. On more than one occasion, yours truly has served him a libation or two.  A favorite spot for quiet reflection is on the grounds of the The Flagler Museum in the shade of an ancient Banyan Tree. We also have The Cathedral By The Sea, where Donald and Melania exchanged their wedding vows!

Every year hundreds of thousands of visitors come to my area.  Many to escape the cold. Sometimes to bring the kids to the beach during the summer months. Or just to get tropical for a week or two.  Many come for the winter months, we call you snowbirds, you clog up our roads with traffic but we love you.

I know this place quite well. For this reason I would like to offer my knowledge and service to make your visit more memorable.  A blogging concierge, if you will.  I can tell you where and when to explore what there is to do here (besides the old go to, shopping the mall and hanging out at the beach).  If you’re planning a trip to my little “Hot Paradise” corner of the world make sure you check in.  I think you will find something of interest.  I welcome your questions, suggestions and comments.  Hope to hear from you soon!  PP
